MEET
Dr. Richard Konteh was born in Gbendembu and raised with the values of discipline, education, and service. The son of a primary school teacher and an entrepreneurial mother, he learned early the importance of hard work, resilience, and integrity.
He began his journey through education, studying at St. Francis Secondary School in Makeni, before earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Njala University. He later pursued advanced studies in Development Planning and Spatial Development in Europe, earning a PhD in Spatial Planning and Development Coordination.
Dr. Konteh built a distinguished career in public service, serving as Chief of Staff in the Office of the President of Sierra Leone, where he played a central role in coordinating national development programs, including the Agenda for Change, and the Agenda for Prosperity. He also served as Minister of Trade and Industry, where he championed private sector growth, investment promotion, and economic reform.
Throughout his career, he has worked to ensure that governance delivers real results for ordinary Sierra Leoneans—jobs, opportunity, and a better quality of life.
Today, Dr. Konteh offers experienced, unifying leadership grounded in service, integrity, and a clear vision for Sierra Leone’s future.

Dr. Konteh has served Sierra Leone at the highest levels of government, including as Chief of Staff, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development, where he played a critical role in coordinating national priorities, strengthening governance systems, and supporting key development initiatives.
